Headbanger Guide

The course delivers the Y7 & Y8 Framework in 10 topics each, and comes with a document that maps each section of the course clearly to the Framework. An integral mental arithmetic course runs throughout.

Yerwat Guide

Each section is one lesson. Any techniques which are mental/oral starters, or those which need teaching, are at the beginning of the section/lesson. The development exercises form the core of each section/lesson.Each section also contains Star Challenges to be attempted at the end of the development exercises and/or set for homework.

At the end of each topic is a section of High Level Challenges, each linked to the topic. Able students are expected to tackle these Challenges when they complete a section (rather than moving onto the next section ahead of the rest of the class).

Headbanger Student Challenge

This is intended for use at home. Homeworks may be set from it. It includes many of the Star Challenges from the end of sections. This extends the use of this text as a homework book to a much wider range of students. It contains ALL the 200 High Level Challenges, so students can work on these puzzles and problems whenever they wish to.
